COVID-19 - stay safe, healthy and engaged!

The Coronavirus pandemic has put so many challenges on us all, particularly parents with children locked-down at home away from family members, friends and their schools, and with limited access to outdoors spaces. If you visit Ajyal at Home page, we've prepared a list of resources and links to help keep the little ones engaged, active and also to help with their learning away from school. We have also included some links for parents to enjoy too :)

If you have ideas that you feel can benefit people in lockdown, particularly children in refugee camps, then please get in touch by email (info@ajyalfoundation.org) - we would love to hear from you.

We will keep updating the 'Ajyal at Home' page, so watch this space.

Cosmic Kids Yoga, keep those kids active

For those at home with kids, Cosmic Kids Yoga is a great source for fun exercise with the kids. Each episode is creatively themed around a story or a film that many kids are familiar with, like the Hungry Caterpillar, Alice in Wonderland, Moana, Pokémon and many other books and films.

The Palestinian Museum (Arabic & English)

Like all museums, The Palestinian Museum is closed but it has opened its virtual doors to a number of exhibitions, talks and activities via their 'Museum from Home: Palestine preserves' campaign.

The Palestinian Museum opened in 2016 as a transnational museum and, if you haven't had the chance to visit it yet, this is a great chance to virtually walk through its exhibitions and get a feel of their message of "perseverance" and enjoy their virtual gallery. 'Museum at Home' is available in both English and Arabic languages.

Fun Science Learning

Mystery Science has pulled their most popular science lessons and are offering them for everyone to use for free. Their lessons answer popular kids questions about their surrounding from "Can animals laugh?" to "why we get hiccups?". They have short mini-lessons that are completely digital and full lessons that include an activity. All of the activities are designed to use simple supplies that families will likely already have at home. They have grouped the video links to suit different ages from reception/kindergarten to Year 5. It can be fun for parents too!

Fun with nature for parents and kids

The Eden Project has made available for free some fun learning resources and activities about plants, nature, gardening, bees and more. If you are one of the lucky ones with a garden and want to expand your skills, they have some good tips and videos for beginners. The Eden Project, nestled in a huge crater in Cornwall, UK, has massive 'biomes' housing the largest rainforest in captivity and stunning plants.
